In the afternoon of December 16, 2022, the “2022 STTT International Biomedical Conference— The International Innovation Forum for Young Talents”, sponsored by Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association (SCIMEA), Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy of West China Hospital of Sichuan University and the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy at West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was successfully held at Jinjiang Hotel, Chengdu in an online and offline manner. In this special period of severe epidemic, students and faculty attending the forum brought a unique international academic exchange feast, showing the positive expectations of young people for the future.
Scene of the conference
The forum focused on the theme of “Basic and Translational Research on Molecular Signal Transduction and Diseases”, inviting postgraduate students from domestic and foreign universities in clinical medicine to exchange and share the frontier progress and explore ideas related to the pathophysiological mechanism of “Molecular Signal Transduction and Diseases”.
The opening ceremony invited Academician Wei Yuquan, Editor-in-chief of the journal Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and Su Baihai, Director of the Postgraduate Department of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, to deliver speeches.
Academician Wei Yuquan, Editor-in-chief of the journal Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, delivers a speech.
On behalf of STTT, Academician Wei expressed his warm congratulations on the successful convening of the conference. He pointed out that under the serious situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, the young scholars still insisted on academic exchanges as scheduled, which demonstrated the pursuit spirit of young scholars who are not afraid of challenges ad dare to climb to the peak. He was deeply moved by and admired the dedication and pursuit of academic excellence of the young scholars. He also hoped that through academic exchanges, young scholars can irrigate the source of knowledge, deepen the foundation of knowledge, ignite the engine of hard work with passion, and release the power of youth!
Prof. Su Baihai, Director of the Postgraduate Department of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, delivers a speech.
Prof. Su said that the development of medicine always requires young people to climb to the top and keep striving to move forward. The West China School of Medicine is committed to building a "competency-based" system of medical talent excellence. In addition to the basic clinical skills, it is more important to develop a sense of innovation and scientific thinking in the postgraduate training. We need not only high-quality basic research, but also innovative research results. He expected the young scholars to make further progress and achieve better results through innovation.
Wei Xiawei, a research fellow of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, presides over the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by researcher Wei Xiawei, a research fellow and Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Ms. Wei introduced that this conference aims to promote the international vision and academic growth of graduate students and enhance the influence of STTT among young scholars. A total of 30 excellent abstracts were selected for presentation at this forum, covering international cutting-edge clinical basic and translational research.
